We’ve got a bold strategy and big ambitions to deliver innovation and a digital-first customer service, with relentless commitment to our customers.
We’re looking for a Technical Solutions Engineer to join our strategy team and help evolve our platform, improve the software delivery lifecycle, and turn new ideas into practical technical outcomes.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys working across solution design, prototyping, internal tooling, and SDLC improvement — and wants to stay hands-on while working closely on platform architecture and engineering strategy.
We’re looking for people who bring:
Curiosity, sound judgment, and a growth mindset that isn’t limited by what’s been done before
A collaborative approach and respect for different perspectives
Confidence to challenge the status quo and test better ways of working
Enthusiasm for practical uses of AI, automation, and emerging engineering tools
What you’ll do:
Design practical technology solutions for platform and product initiatives, working within our established architecture patterns and standards
Get hands-on building proof of concepts, prototypes, and internal tools to test new ideas and technical approaches
Help evolve our microservices and API-first platform and improve how we build and deliver technology
Explore where AI and automation can strengthen the SDLC and help put the right opportunities into practice
Work with stakeholders to understand problems and requirements, then turn them into workable technical approaches
Experiment with new technologies and ways of working, using what you learn to improve speed, stability, automation, and quality across the platform
Skills & Experience:
Experience designing and building software in modern cloud-based environments
Practical understanding of microservices, APIs, and distributed systems
Strong coding capability, particularly in Python and/or TypeScript
Hands-on experience building prototypes, proof of concepts, internal tools, or automation solutions
Experience with AWS and modern engineering workflows
A pragmatic and curious approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to experiment, evaluate new technologies, and find what works
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bonus points for:
Experience with AI-assisted engineering, SDLC automation, DORA metrics, or value stream analysis
Experience working in platforms with established microservices and architecture patterns
