Travel: Permanent - Up to 25%, as required / 1st 6 Months - Up to 75%
Range: $100,000-$120,000 (Dependent on Experience and Qualifications)
Position Summary:
The Technical Support Representative serves as Robinson Helicopter Company’s (RHC) on-site technical expert supporting the U.S. Army Flight School Next (FSN) program at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Embedded directly alongside the M1 Team maintenance personnel to assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the FSN fleet, providing hands-on troubleshooting, airworthiness guidance, and technical liaison back to RHC engineering and product support to keep aircraft safe, serviceable, and mission ready.
The ideal candidate is an experienced rotary-wing maintenance professional with strong Robinson helicopter knowledge, A&P credentials, and the ability to diagnose and assist the M1 Team to resolve complex maintenance issues in a fast-paced flight training environment. This role will not operate with sign off authority of the M1 Team fleet, but will provide functional responsibility, maintenance education, train-the-trainer tasks, and appropriate assistance as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
Maintenance & Technical Support
- Provide hands-on technical support to M1 Team maintenance personnel for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the FSN fleet.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose airframe, powerplant, and systems discrepancies to return aircraft to service.
- Provide airworthiness and maintenance guidance in accordance with RHC technical data, maintenance manuals, and applicable regulations.
- Escalate complex technical issues to RHC Site Manager, Engineering, and Product support teams.
Aircraft Availability & Mission Readiness
- Serve as the RHC primary on-site technical point of contact for FSN maintenance.
- Support rapid resolution of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and unscheduled maintenance events.
- Ensure aircraft remain serviceable and available to meet the flight training schedule.
- Support maintenance readiness reviews and fleet health assessments.
Technical Guidance & Continuous Improvement
- Advise on inspection findings, service bulletins, and mandatory maintenance actions.
- Recommend operational or maintenance changes that improve reliability, cost of operation, and safety.
- Coordinate with the RHC Fleet Sustainment & Spares Coordinator on parts required to complete maintenance actions.
- Monitor recurring discrepancies and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure maintenance actions are accurately documented per RHC and program requirements.
- Record technical incidents, resolutions, and corrective actions in RHC systems.
- Prepare technical reports, status updates, and briefings for the RHC Site Manager.
- Support configuration management, airworthiness records, and compliance requirements.
Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Provide technical guidance and on-the-job mentoring to M1 Team maintenance personnel.
- Develop and deliver technical instruction, maintenance tips, and reference materials.
- Conduct technical demonstrations and workshops as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with RHC engineering, product support, supply chain, and the Site Manager.
- Participate in technical reviews, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Support fielding, induction, and sustainment activities at Fort Rucker.
