Technical Writer | Documentation Development Site-based opportunity available

Salary: $80 – $95 per hour

We are excited to hear from experienced Technical Writers to support the development of operability and maintainability documentation for new rail equipment. We offer an immediate start opportunity to provide documentation development services to a Tier-1 mining organisation in Western Australia, with the FIFO role commencing as soon as possible and potential to extend through September and beyond. As an experienced Technical Writer, you will be well-versed in developing maintenance and operational documentation from source material.

The key elements of the position are:

  • Developing operability and maintainability documentation: For the new rail equipment.

  • Preparing Maintenance PRTs, SWPs, and operational and maintenance documentation: Based on the gap analysis register.

  • Identifying additional documentation requirements: As they arise during commissioning and as maintenance manuals are updated.

  • Working hands-on with operators and maintainers: Gathering input and developing fit-for-purpose documentation.

  • Driving reviewer engagement: Proactively following up with reviewers to secure timely feedback.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Rail background preferred; strong asset management experience considered, with the ability to interpret maintenance manuals, SWPs, and QRGs (SME support provided).

  • Strong communication, active listening, and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Sound critical thinking and problem-solving ability.

  • Capable of contributing from day one, working closely with Operational Readiness, People Readiness, and SMEs.

  • Hands-on approach, comfortable working directly with operators and maintainers on site.
