Technology Procurement Specialist
You will research, evaluate, source and procure technology products and services across hardware, software, cloud, market data, networking, datacentres and emerging technologies. You will lead sourcing and negotiation processes, manage suppliers and technology asset lifecycles, support infrastructure project delivery, analyse spend, track budgets, and improve procurement governance and workflows.
Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate, negotiate and procure technology products and services
- Lead requirements definition, RFIs, RFPs, vendor due diligence and proposal evaluation
- Conduct commercial negotiations and contract reviews
- Obtain purchase approvals and hand over implementations
- Define requirements with engineering, infrastructure, security, legal, finance and business teams
- Assess technical options, vendor roadmaps, licensing and commercial models
- Support complex infrastructure projects involving compute, GPU, storage, network, power, cooling, datacentre capacity and exchange connectivity
- Manage supplier relationships
- Coordinate technology implementation deliveries
- Manage technology asset lifecycles
- Conduct cost reconciliation and spend analysis
- Track budgets and vendor reporting
- Improve procurement processes, documentation, governance and stakeholder workflows
Requirements
- Approximately three to six years’ experience in technology procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, solutions architecture, technical project delivery, infrastructure sourcing or a related role
- Strong technical aptitude and understanding of enterprise technology environments
- Experience sourcing or delivering complex infrastructure, high-performance compute, GPU, datacentre, colocation, low-latency network or direct-liquid-cooled technology
- Broad knowledge of technology products and services
- Ability to develop knowledge of unfamiliar and emerging technologies
- Experience running structured sourcing and negotiation processes
- Experience evaluating commercial models, contractual terms, supplier risk and total cost of ownership
- Project management and organisational skills
- Stakeholder and vendor management skills
- Strong verbal and written reasoning skills
- Bachelor’s degree in an analytical, technical, engineering, scientific, financial or quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Financial services, trading or research computing experience is desirable
