TRANSPORT OPERATIONS MANAGER
Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end land freight transport operations including local and cross-border trucking.
- Plan and optimize routes, schedules, and load allocation to maximize fleet efficiency and reduce transit time.
- Coordinate with transport vendors, drivers, and third-party logistics partners for smooth execution.
- Oversee fleet utilization, maintenance scheduling, and vehicle availability.
- Ensure accurate preparation and handling of transport documents (delivery orders, waybills, permits, etc.).
- Monitor shipment movement and proactively resolve delays, breakdowns, or route disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety standards, and cross-border requirements.
- Control and optimize operational costs including fuel, tolls, and vendor charges.
- Track key performance metrics such as on-time delivery, cost per trip, and vehicle utilization.
- Lead and manage drivers, coordinators, and operations staff to maintain high performance levels.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in land freight, trucking operations, or transport management.
- Strong understanding of route planning, fleet management, and load optimization.
- Experience handling cross-border trucking operations and related documentation (if applicable).
- Ability to manage drivers and third-party transport vendors effectively.
- Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS) and tracking tools.
- Strong cost-control mindset with the ability to improve operational efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
