Position Summary:

The Transportation Analyst will support mission analyst functions, conduct risk assessments and requirements validations. The Transportation Analyst will assist in the coordination and research of protection policies, directives, and initiatives. The employee will communicate effectively, be an excellent writer, and be able to manage high-level multitasking challenges. The responsibilities include collecting, compiling, and analyzing system data; identifying vulnerabilities; and preparing clear, actionable reports and recommendations. Strong teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills are essential. The Analyst must be able to articulate technical issues to clients and colleagues, deliver formal presentations, and produce written reports. Primary clients include organizations within the Department of War (DoW).


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and enhance mission assurance program transportation assessment criteria based on mission requirements and collect capability data prior to, during, and after the mission assurance assessment process.
  • Review applicable mission data, plans, instructions, and commander’s guidance to help determine the criticality of specific assets, identify single points of failure and degradation to tenant, installation, Navy, and DoW missions. Be administratively organized, a good technical writer, and possess effective communication skills at all levels of leadership.
  • Identify and report transportation infrastructure/assets and capability vulnerabilities, program policy gaps, and provide recommended risk mitigation measures.
  • Perform risk analysis and provide recommendations to mitigate mission impact resulting from the loss of asset capabilities, infrastructure, maintenance, training, or supporting services.
  • Develop briefing slides, reports, manage assessment scheduling and coordination requirements, and participate in the report editing review processes.
  • Address tasking from internal teams, DoD stakeholders, and broader organizational initiatives in a responsive and professional manner.
  • Manage workload proactively, maintaining a 30-day outlook to meet deadlines and identify resource needs.
  • As directed and required, the Transportation Analyst will coordinate potential support opportunities and assist with development of white papers, point papers, and briefs to support RMC goals and objectives.

  • FAA requirements, radar, navigational aids, and communications maintenance structure and responsibilities.
