UX Designer
Role Summary
This position is ideal for mid-to-senior-level UX professionals to join the Platform Experiences (PEX) team as a UX Designer, shaping the future of digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry. Partnering with cross-functional teams, you’ll provide intuitive, elegant, and scalable user experiences across our product ecosystem—including Invisalign®, iTero®, and exocad® platforms. This role is vital in redefining digital dentistry through innovation, empathy, and design excellence.
Role Expectations
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to define and deliver user-centered solutions that address complex user and business needs.
- Lead the design of user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI aligned with the Align Design System (ADS).
- Translate user research insights, usability findings, surveys, and customer feedback into informed design decisions and actionable recommendations.
- Drive active participation in design critiques, providing and incorporating feedback to continuously enhance product quality and user experience consistency.
- Champion design consistency, accessibility, and usability across web, mobile, and desktop platforms, ensuring adherence to established UX standards.
- Partner with development teams throughout implementation, providing clear design specifications, assets, and guidance to ensure design intent is accurately executed.
- Contribute to the evolution of design processes, documentation, and best practices, supporting scalability and continuous improvement within the global design organization.

- Bachelor’s degree in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Product Design, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- 4–6 years of professional UX/UI design experience, preferably in enterprise software, SaaS, healthcare technology, or other complex digital platforms.
- Professional English proficiency, with the ability to facilitate discussions, document design decisions, and confidently present work in stakeholder reviews and design critiques.
- Strong portfolio demonstrates end-to-end product design ownership, systematic design thinking, interaction design expertise, and visual design excellence across complex user journeys.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma for interface design, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration; experience working within design systems and modern design workflows.
- Ability to clearly communicate design rationale, influence decision-making, and present solutions effectively to product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive design initiatives while collaborating effectively within cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
- Experience applying user research methods, usability testing, and data-driven insights to inform design decisions and improve user outcomes.
- Strong understanding of accessibility, usability principles, and responsive design best practices across web, mobile, and desktop platforms.
- Ability to work onsite in the Costa Rica office and effectively collaborate across global teams and time zones
- Experience working with design systems or component libraries.
- Exposure to AI-assisted workflows, data-driven platforms, or complex system design.
- Familiarity with healthcare, clinical, or dental workflows.
- Interest in motion, micro-interactions, or emerging interaction patterns
