Warehouse Manager (Pharmaceutical)
Our client, a global MNC in the pharmaceutical industry, is seeking a Warehouse Manager to lead warehouse operations at its Singapore manufacturing site. This role will oversee warehouse performance, inventory control, people management, safety, and external warehouse partners, ensuring efficient and reliable operations in support of production and business requirements.
As a Warehouse Manager, you will lead the warehouse team and be responsible for both in-house and outsourced warehouse operations. You will drive improvements across people, processes, systems, and equipment while ensuring strong inventory accuracy, compliance, safety standards, and cost control. The role also provides an opportunity to lead continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen overall warehouse performance.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the warehouse team, setting clear KPIs, objectives, and performance expectations.
- Oversee both internal and third-party warehouse operations, ensuring efficient storage, handling, and product protection.
- Plan manpower, equipment, and operational resources to support production volumes and business requirements.
- Establish and maintain warehouse procedures, controls, and operating standards in line with company and statutory requirements.
- Drive warehouse safety and ensure compliance with EHS policies for employees and contractors.
- Manage warehouse equipment and asset maintenance, including preventive maintenance and operator care programmes.
- Oversee inventory control across internal and external warehouses, including stock counts, reconciliation, and investigation of variances.
- Lead investigations into warehouse incidents, material control issues, and product damage, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage warehouse capacity and space utilization, anticipating future requirements based on production and business volumes.
- Monitor third-party logistics and warehouse service providers to ensure service quality, performance, and cost effectiveness.
- Manage warehouse budgets and operating expenses.
- Drive Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, and warehouse performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Materials Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of relevant warehouse experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Experience managing both in-house and outsourced warehouse operations is preferred.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, warehouse processes, and operational controls.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
- Good understanding of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with external partners.
