Water Resources Practice Manager
The Wooten Company is seeking a team-focused, innovative Water Resources Practice Manager with strong water and wastewater utilities background to lead our Water Resources Practice in South Carolina.
Who are you? The ideal candidate will be an initiative-taking civil or environmental engineer (PE) with a strong background in successfully completing water, wastewater and stormwater projects for local governments and private clients. You have been a licensed Professional Engineer for at least 8 years. You are responsible, collaborate well with a team, and communicate well with people of varying backgrounds and experiences. You are eager to grow professionally in your field and help The Wooten Company grow our presence in South Carolina in the local government water resources field.
What will you be doing? Candidates can expect to work with utility owners, such as local regional water systems, utility authorities, consultants and permitting agencies in the delivery of water, sewer and stormwater services. This person can make a significant community impact by supporting our clients as they conduct their mission to efficiently own, operate, and maintain public utilities on behalf of their customers and residents. The Water Resources Practice Manager will be responsible for growing and managing their own team (a team of 4-6), collaborating with existing clients, and growing Wooten’s water, wastewater and stormwater utilities presence in South Carolina. Candidates can expect to be continually challenged to manage design projects (i.e., develop scopes, budgets, maintain client relationships, QA/QC, and design functions, etc.) and help develop and lead their own team of colleagues to create solutions that meet our client’s needs, using the right mix of advanced technology and historically successful measures, while working within the financial boundaries of the project stakeholders.
Who will you be working with? In addition to managing your Practice, the Water Resources Practice Manager can expect cross-functional collaboration across all teams and specialties, providing an opportunity to interact with The Wooten Company colleagues in both North and South Carolina, including our Water/ Wastewater teams in other offices. Additionally, this person will work with local government and water and sewer authorities, as well as local and state agencies, and funding agencies. For the right person with a desire to grow professionally, this role is a good opportunity to develop both depth and breadth in civil engineering expertise while contributing to Wooten’s expanding presence, in both the North and South Carolina regions.
