Windows Systems Administrator
NetFire is looking for a capable, customer-focused Windows Systems Administrator to help manage and optimize the Windows server and network infrastructure that powers our clients' day-to-day operations. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on engineering and customer service: you'll be the person clients trust when something breaks, when something needs to be built, and when something needs to be made faster, safer, or more reliable. You'll work alongside a skilled team of administrators and engineers in a fast-paced environment, with real ownership over the systems you support and meaningful opportunities to grow your career.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer-facing technical support through help desk, phone, and live chat, with a focus on professionalism, clarity, and SLA adherence.
- Prioritize and manage support tickets based on severity, impact, and service-level commitments.
- Maintain and optimize Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and related services.
- Administer Hyper-V environments, including VM lifecycle management, clustering, failover, storage, and performance tuning.
- Perform system patching, updates, and security enhancements on servers and workstations during established maintenance windows.
- Conduct regular system audits, covering permission reviews, account audits, event log analysis, and configuration compliance checks.
- Work with Veeam Backup & Replication to configure jobs, monitor backup health, perform restores, and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
- Use PowerShell to automate routine tasks, generate reports, and maintain environments efficiently.
- Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networking devices, and other infrastructure components.
- Monitor system health, performance, and security using monitoring tools, performance counters, and event logs, proactively addressing issues before they escalate.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, runbooks, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in after-hours support when required for maintenance windows, urgent operational needs, or system outages.
