WordPress Developer
About the Position
We are looking for a WordPress developer for a support team who will work on improvements to existing client websites fix issues and implement technical SEO audits.
Key Responsibilities
Client Site Maintenance & Bug FixesTriage and resolve WordPress issues (CSS tweaks, plugin errors, content updates)
Update site information, imagery and layouts as requested by clients
SEO Audit ImplementationApply fixes identified in SEO audits, including:Fixing broken links and setting up 301 redirects
Resolving sitemap, schema, and crawl errors
Validate and test changes to confirm correct implementation
Page Building & ThemingBuild and update pages using Elementor (templates, global widgets, responsive settings)
Implement simple landing pages and section layouts from Figma mockups
Collaboration & CommunicationReport progress and blockers clearly in Asana and Slack
Coordinate with SEO specialists to align technical fixes
Communicate with Account Managers to clarify task details; be patient with imperfectly defined requests, ask questions, and propose solutions
Required Qualifications
WordPress Proficiency3+ years of hands-on experience with WordPress core, themes and plugins
3+ years of hands-on experience with Elementor page builder
Self-Management & CommunicationStrong written English for task descriptions and updates
Organized, proactive, and able to work independently on remote, hourly engagements
Attention to DetailMethodical testing and verification of all changes
DevOps & Hosting Fundamentals
Set up new WordPress sites on hosting environments (e.g., Kinsta, WP Engine, SiteGround)
Migrate sites across hosts and staging/live environments without downtime
Understand and manage DNS settings, SSL certificates, and CDN configuration
Use tools like phpMyAdmin, FastPanel, SSH, FTP/sFTP
Language Skills
English — Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher
Russian — good to have; used for internal team communication
Interview stages:
Technical interview(30-90min)
Paid test assignment — up to 6 hours
Type of engagement: Contractor agreement with a US-based company, paid hourly.
