Workshop Manager - Mining - Northwest
Our client based in the Northwest Province is seeking an experienced and skilled Workshop Manager to oversee workshop operations and ensure top-quality repairs and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement quality control measures for all equipment.
- Ensure adherence to company Policy and Procedures.
- Manage workshop repairs, testing, and failure analysis.
- Implement the maintenance management system effectively, ensuring all processes are followed.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Oversee assembly, maintenance, and refurbishment of mining equipment.
- Provide continuous training to staff and new employees.
- Compile and communicate product performance data.
- Supervise and manage artisans to ensure quality work and adherence to safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety, environment, quality and housekeeping in section.
- Comply with (Occupational Health and Safety Act) OHSA and (Mine Health and Safety Act) MHSA standards, ensure that installations comply with statutory regulations, conform to safety standards and planned maintenance system requirements.
- Manage assets and workshop employees.
Requirements
- Grade 12.
- Trade qualification in Fitting, Millwright, or Diesel Mechanic.
- A minimum of 8 years operational artisan experience and experience manufacturing, experience in mining (advantageous).
- Valid certificate of physical fitness.
- Clear criminal record.
