Our modern approach to identity enables this Tier-Ø global service to deliver convenience, privacy, and security so customers can focus on innovation. Know more about our product at .

The Role

We are hiring for a new team within Core Identity, the Engineering organization entrusted with the very heart of the Auth0 application. Our teams own the authentication pipeline, identity protocols, user sessions, and all the fundamental concepts and foundational elements that underpin our entire product. We are also the stewards of the platform's technical health, performance, and efficiency.

As a Senior Engineer for this new team, named Core Frontier, you will operate at the vital intersection of deep product innovation and the global customer experience. Your mission is to ensure that the sophisticated features developed across the Core Identity organization (such as Native to Web, Cross-App Access and Custom Token Exchange) are hardened, scaled, and seamlessly integrated into the Auth0 ecosystem. You will act as the architectural bridge, ensuring that complex internal logic translates into a polished, secure, and high-performance experience that millions of developers and end-users interact with every day.

This is an opportunity to solve complex distributed systems challenges at a global scale, whilst providing a delightful and secure experience for our customers. You will primarily work with our NodeJS backend (TypeScript/JavaScript), with data stored in MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis, all running on a multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure). If you have a passion for simplifying complex problems, building resilient and secure software, and care deeply about the final "feel" of a product, we encourage you to apply. Experience with or an interest in Identity and Access Management is highly valued.

What you will do:

  • Be a founding engineer of this new team in Bengaluru, setting the technical bar and engineering culture for our growing presence in the region and working in collaboration with our global teams in Europe and North America.
  • Build and design innovative features that extend the capabilities of Auth0’s platform to help our customers innovate around the world securely and delightfully.
  • Contribute to the strategic technical quality, security, reliability, and scalability of our systems, and advocate for engineering best practices.
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment, working with talented engineers and partners across Product, Security, Design, Architecture and QA to deliver features that delight our customers and ensure a unified technical vision.
  • Deepen or gain expertise in identity, security, and modern cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) while working on distributed systems at scale.
  • Mentor and be mentored by other engineers and contribute to our culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure our critical services remain healthy and reliable.

What you will bring:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience, or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in designing and building services with Node.js (JavaScript or TypeScript).
  • Experience creating and maintaining public and secure APIs, as well as front ends.
  • Experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • A strong commitment to quality, with experience in various testing strategies (e.g., unit, integration, end-to-end).
  • A product-oriented mindset, with the ability to understand customer needs and work collaboratively to find effective solutions.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) domain.
  • Knowledge of security engineering principles and application security best practices.
