Software Engineer Bill Pay and Procurement

You will design and build core procure-to-pay systems covering invoice ingestion, approval workflows, payment orchestration, and reconciliation. You will own backend services that process high volumes of financial events and extend financial ledger capabilities. You will work with Product, Finance, and Data stakeholders to turn accounting and compliance policies into testable software. You will strengthen reliability, observability, data integrity, developer tooling, and internal APIs while enabling automated invoice processing.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core procure-to-pay systems for invoice ingestion, approval workflows, payment orchestration, and reconciliation
• Enable AI agents to classify, validate, and process invoices automatically
• Own backend services that process financial events across Bill Pay, Procurement, and Treasury
• Collaborate with Product, Finance, and Data to translate accounting and compliance policies into testable code
• Extend the financial ledger for new transaction types, international payments, and automated audit trails
• Drive reliability, observability, and data integrity
• Improve developer tooling and internal APIs for procure-to-pay data

Requirements

• Have 3+ years of backend engineering experience
• Design and maintain data-intensive distributed systems with strong consistency and auditability requirements
• Know Python or a comparable backend language and SQL
• Build event-driven systems and scale high-volume, low-latency architectures
• Apply system design and debugging skills
• Translate business rules into software logic with finance, risk, and product stakeholders
