Summary
Define and lead validation of Linux kernel drivers for PCIe devices on a next-generation AI computational storage product, covering interrupt handling, DMA flows, MMIO, performance benchmarking, fault injection, and stress/regression testing.
We are seeking a Staff Test Engineer – Linux Kernel Driver Testing to define and lead validation of kernel drivers for a next-generation AI computational storage product.
Key Responsibilities
Define validation strategy for Linux kernel drivers (PCIe devices) & Establish release readiness and qualification criteria
Lead testing of: Interrupt handling, DMA flows, MMIO interactions and Multi-device configurations
Drive smoke, regression, and stress validation strategy
Establish performance benchmarking for driver and I/O paths
Perform and guide kernel-level profiling and performance analysis
Utilize and drive adoption of Linux observability tools like ftrace, systrace, perf, procfs (/proc) and sysfs (/sys)
Ensure memory correctness, leak detection, and resource stability
Validate driver reliability under stress and corner-case conditions
Design frameworks for Fault injection and Error handling validation
Debug complex issues across kernel, runtime, and firmware layers
Required Qualifications
8–12 years in Linux kernel/driver validation or development
Deep experience with: PCIe subsystem, Kernel internals, DMA and memory management
Strong debugging skills using: ftrace, perf, crash, gdb, etc.
Expertise in C/C++ and kernel-level programming
Preferred
Experience with kernel profiling, tracing, and performance tuning
Strong familiarity with Linux observability tools (ftrace, systrace, perf, procfs/sysfs)
Experience with high-performance devices (accelerators, storage, networking)
Exposure to queue-based device models (NVMe-like architectures)
