The Opportunity | Te Kōwhiringa
As our Surfacing Supervisor, you’ll plan, organise and lead our regional surfacing crew to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You’ll work closely with our Operations Manager and Delivery Manager to deliver programmes of work, optimise resources, and maintain strong customer relationships.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive quality, productivity and Zero Harm performance across your team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead, support and mentor surfacing crews, ensuring strong team culture and high performance.

  • Oversee day-to-day surfacing operations, including chip stockpiling, QA processes, and audits.

  • Work with delivery teams to programme and execute workflows effectively.

  • Track project financials, including actual vs target cost estimates.

  • Ensure all QA documentation, ITPs and as-builts are completed accurately.

  • Maintain excellent customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.

  • Drive Zero Harm by promoting safe, responsible behaviour and ensuring compliance.

  • Coordinate plant, people and resources for optimal utilisation.

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Matua

We’re looking for someone who brings both technical surfacing knowledge and the ability to lead and inspire a team.

  • A strong background in surfacing/sealing operations.

  • Proven experience supervising teams in roading or civil construction.

  • Knowledge of surfacing specifications, QA procedures and audits.

  • Strong planning and organisational skills.

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Computer literacy and the ability to track and report on performance.

  • A Class 1 driver licence.
