Job Summary

  • The System Administrator will act as a bridge between BrightView business units, IT, and third-party vendors. Under general guidance from management and senior team members, responsibilities include gathering requirements, managing projects and work streams of various sizes, supporting deployed solutions, and conceptualizing potential future solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing deep knowledge of Workday HCM to drive technology solutions.
  • Working together with project managers, subject matter experts, fellow Business Analysts, consultants and developers to establish cohesive project strategies.
  • Supporting day-to-day production activities in a complex technical environment consisting of Workday, JD Edwards Enterprise One, and other applications and associated integrations.
  • Communicating technical concepts clearly with non-technical personnel across the organization.
  • Gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements.
  • Serving as the liaison between business users and technical resources.
  • Facilitating IT and User Acceptance Testing of completed solutions.
  • Organizing assignments and priorities to ensure that project deadlines and internal customer expectations are met.
  • Providing regular status updates to management, including issue escalations when necessary.
  • Coaching and mentoring other team members to help build their skills.
  • Working individually, or in collaboration with others, depending on project needs.
  • Adhering to IT General Controls including Change Management.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a System Administrator or equivalent role, preferably with a services organization.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or another technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience using Workday to support key HR capabilities.
  • Detailed knowledge of Workday’s solutions for one or more of the following: Employee and Manager Self Service, Absence Tracking, Talent & Performance Management, Benefits Enrollment, Compensation, Applicant Tracking, and Employee Onboarding.
  • Prefer experience in integrating Workday with third-party payroll solutions, preferably JD Edwards Enterprise One.
  • The ability to understand HR and Payroll business needs and advise on best practices.
  • Awareness of payroll systems and practices for both union and non-union employees.
  • Success supporting multiple custom and third-party application interfaces
  • Self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in writing professional business requirements, test plans, design requirements, user documentation and technical specifications.
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining enterprise-level applications, including analyzing complex issues and coordinating issue-resolution activities involving multiple resources and stakeholders.
  • Adept at identifying and implementing new processes and technologies to increase efficiency, control costs, reduce risk, etc.
  • Experience working with SQL databases and writing SQL queries to analyze data preferred.

Physical Demands/Requirements:

  • Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers.
  • Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for a majority of time
  • Operates in an office environment and requires in-person presence
  • Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur

Work Environment:

  • Work is conducted in a professional office environment, with a collaborative and dynamic team setting and requires in-person presence
