About This Role
Textron Systems is seeking new and recent graduates to join our Sea Systems business area to develop solutions in support of our unmanned surface vehicles programs. Current focal areas include autonomous control, advanced payload integration, vision systems, and other emerging technologies to enhance our unmanned surface vehicle platforms’ capabilities.
Your day may include designing, simulating, constructing, and field-testing autonomous surface vehicles and their subsystems. Our goal is to deliver disruptive autonomy technologies that enhance our customers’ mission capabilities We work on applied research and development initiatives as well as established programs, and leverage diversity of thought to improve Textron Systems’ lines of robotic products.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for design, development, and execution of tests for products (hardware, software, systems) to ensure quality, functionality, and reliability, creating test plans, writing test cases, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams for fixes, ultimately ensuring products meet specifications and user needs before launch
- Test Planning & Design\: Understand requirements, define scope, objectives, and resources, then create detailed test plans, strategies, and procedures
- Test Case Development\: Write specific test cases and scripts for various tests (functional, performance, security, etc.).
- Test Execution\: Run tests, monitor the development and production process, and manage controlled testing environments.
- Defect Management\: Identify document (using bug trackers), report, and track software/hardware and product defects.
- Collaboration & Feedback\: Work with developers, process engineers, and management to provide insights, suggest improvements, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Reporting\: Analyze results, document findings, preparing and presenting Test engineering work products to internal review teams and external customers [AA2] at program milestone reviews.
- Interact daily with technical leads, program managers, planners, technicians, and other engineers.
- Driving tasks to completion independently – aided by appropriate supervision and mentoring.
- Collaborating with others within the workgroup, with other departments, and the customer.
