Transport & Logistics Project Coordinator

In this challenging and versatile role, you will combine transport coordination with logistics project support, data analysis, and continuous improvement activities. You, as a team player, will act as the single point of contact for transport-related activities while supporting operational excellence initiatives through reporting, process optimization, and project coordination. A proactive, service driven and analytical mindset are essential to succeed in this role.

This position is based on-site at DCEU in Herten. Candidates must be eligible to work in the Netherlands. Fluency in English is required; Dutch is preferred. The split between daily transport related tasks and project-based work is approximately 50/50.

Transport & Shipment Coordination (20%)

  • Plan, execute, and follow up on inbound shipments into the Distribution Center (DC).
  • Execute, support, and monitor outbound shipments from the DC to global destinations, including preparation of all required export documentation.
  • Organize and follow up on non-DC related collections and deliveries, such as sample shipments to laboratories or distribution of training materials.
  • Maintain the EUDC inbound dock planning and adjust where required to ensure smooth operations.


Dangerous Goods, Compliance & Claims (10%)

  • Process shipments in compliance with ADR, IMDG, and IATA Dangerous Goods regulations, which includes compliant dangerous goods documentation and archiving.

  • Organize customs documentation and support any physical inspections or audits by customs authorities.

  • Initiate, manage, and follow up on transport claims (damage, loss, delay), including root‑cause analysis and coordination with carriers and internal stakeholders.

  • Proactively identify risks, trends, and recurring issues, and support preventive actions to avoid future impact.

Stakeholder Communication & Customer Experience (20%)

  • Act as the single point of contact for DC related and transport related questions or requests within the region via e-mail, MS Teams, and telephone.
  • Maintain close contact with Customer Service, Planning, Quality, Operations, carriers, and external service providers.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive follow‑up and transparent communication.

Project Support, Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement (50%)

  • Support and independently coordinate small to medium-sized logistics improvement projects and contribute to larger regional or global initiatives.
  • Analyze transport and logistics performance to support project decisions, business cases, and process improvements.
  • Prepare, maintain, and share KPIs, dashboards, and reports (e.g. shipment performance, on‑time delivery, carrier performance, customer feedback) to provide visibility and drive fact‑based decisions.
  • Identify trends, bottlenecks, risks, and recurring issues in transport and logistics processes, translating insights into practical improvement proposals.
  • Prepare management presentations, project updates, and improvement summaries for stakeholders across the organization.
  • Support ERP and system‑related improvements, including process mapping, system testing, data validation, and implementation support for logistics‑related IT projects.
  • Create, review, and update SOPs and work instructions as part of continuous improvement initiatives and project implementations.
  • Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, customer focus, and operational excellence.
  • MBO+ or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience within logistics, transport, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience with transport management, freight forwarding, or distribution center operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Structured, accurate, and detail oriented, with a proactive and decisive working style.
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is an advantage.
  • Project coordination and presentation experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of customs and dangerous goods regulations (ADR, IMDG, IATA) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is preferred

The good faith estimate of the salary range for this role is 44.000 to 58.000 Euro annually. The actual amount offered is determined by a number of factors including but not limited to location, skills and experience.
